I love organizations! They are vibrant, energetic and intended for a purpose. Due to this dynamism, pursuit of that purpose is never boring – and never easy. But it is rewarding! When individuals team up, harnessing their creative passions for a common goal and greater good – remarkable things can happen. This is why I formed “Successant”.
Successant is the union of “Success” and “Consultants”. The name reflects my focus and passion for helping to guide organizations through successful stages of growth, productivity and performance. The key word is “successful”. The term, “Success”, implies the victorious attainment of a pursued objective. “Success” then, assumes the following:
- Clarity of objective (well defined strategy)
- Purposeful and prolonged pursuit (execution of effort)
- Conquering of obstacles (proactive drive to deliver results)
- Attainment of the goal (Success!!!)
Organizations are internally complex, with units and personalities competing for the scarce resources required to meet myriad goals. Without a clear unifying strategy, the organization quickly devolves into warring factions – extracting costly overhead from the processes of productive performance. But even with a well-defined strategy, organizational leaders must find common ground to establish the trust, humility and operational frameworks to establish collaborate decision-making, aligned portfolios of investment and operation and mechanisms for quick reaction to changing client and market conditions. These higher-ordered determinations simply don’t organically arise from operational teams (at least not consistently and reliably – and certainly not for the “long haul”).
My passion is to help institute the knowledge, processes and – perhaps more importantly – the culture or environment necessary to foster unifying strategy and effective executive decision making and to do so over the ever present obstacles that derail the best of intentions.
